History of the Rotaract District 5280

In the beginning, there were eight Rotaract clubs that started on a mission to feed the homeless, read to children, raise Polio awareness, and accomplish the impossible. These eight clubs went forth determined to conquer all. However, the Rotaractors of District 5280 saw the need to combine their strength and unite as one, realizing that together, all things are possible.

Today, Rotaract has stepped into a new era launching their own leadership team, ranging from Malibu to Carson, Pasadena to Palos Verdes Estates. Under the leadership of supportive Rotarians, our own Rotaract Governors have created and foster a foundation where Rotaract dreams will grow and bare the changes in those greatly affected, the people they help. Some say, “what is Rotaract?”

The answer is simple…we are the young adults that step forward when we are called. We plan to change the image of our youth and fix the problems of our society, making the difference in life. Our Rotaract District was recognized as an early adopter and leader by key Rotary and Rotaract leadership in connection with “America Canada Carribean Together” an organization that forms a tri-country alliance, move towards the goal of communicating with thousands of Rotaractors in over 400 Rotaract clubs. This closes the communication gap among half the Western World. The Rotaract clubs of District 5280 are among the best, tackling the needs of our communities with help from other Rotaractors and Rotarians. As the Rotaract Clubs of District 5280, we work joyfully and peacefully, knowing that right thoughts and right efforts will inevitably bring about the right results.
